Short Term Missions

Hello from VMC (Voluntary Ministry Committee),

We are committed to providing opportunities for worldwide short term missions experiences, and compassion ministries.

Voluntary Ministry Trips

Each trip is individually built to first and foremost serve God, and then serve both the volunteer, and the ones being served.

Some of the benefits of going on a trip with VMC trip are:

  • You are able to serve the Lord, edify the church, and gain missionary exposure and experience
  • Come along side full time missionaries in a helpful way; assisting them in their long term work
  • Have the opportunity to experience how 80% of the world lives
  • Open yourself up to the possibility to go into full time missions
  • Have your world view expanded and catch a vision to support missionaries with prayer and financial support

Our Ultimate goal is to honor and glorify God by partnering with His missionaries all over the world and join them in advancing His kingdom.

In a more practical way we plan, organize, and facilitate short-term, God honoring trips. We develop new, and embrace current opportunities for believers of all ages to exercise and grow their gifts while directly investing in the Kingdom of God.

We encourage personal sacrifice in paying for the trip but also look for local church involvement through prayer and financial giving. If you are interested in any of these trip or short-term missions other than those listed here, please contact Marvin Troyer (address below).

Testimonials from     VMC Volunteers

"The trip has given me a greater awareness of the dangers and difficulties long term missionaries are faced with."

"A huge part of my heart is there - for good.  And I am SO challenged to pray for the work and against the enemy there."

"This trip has increased my awareness of Hinduism and the Indian culture. My eyes were also opened to the poverty, evil, and depravity that the people face daily without the knowledge of Jesus. I was also touched by the dedication and sacrifice that the missionaries have towards their ministry and fellow neighbors who are lost. Some of them have sacrificed so much in order to tell others about Jesus. Seeing such dedication has inspired me to reach out and minister to the people around me."

"The highlights of the trip included spending time in people's homes."

"A few of the highlights were being involved in the children’s ministry and interacting with the children, working in the leprosy colony, teaching a Bible study in the women’s jail, and interacting with the long term staff when we went to each of their different houses for supper each night. I also enjoyed the days when we were able to sight-see as well."

"I wouldn't trade this trip for the world!!!"

"Because of this trip, the Indian people will always have a place in my heart and I would love to go back and visit them again sometime. I believe this trip and really opened my eyes to the lost people around me and enhanced my desire to further the work of God’s Kingdom where I live."

From a Host:

"We enjoyed so much having Marv and Margaret here as leaders for the team they brought over; their energy and enthusiasm blessed and encouraged us so much! We were encouraged by the interest the team showed in outreach and for how they put themselves into preparing to share. We were also encouraged by their desire to not forget the children as they go home but pray and even possibly support some of them."
