What Is Biblical Mennonite Alliance... "BMA"

Biblical Mennonite Alliance (BMA), is an organization of conservative Anabaptist/Mennonite congregations located primarily in the eastern two thirds of the US and Canada, with some international affiliates. The BMA congregations are organized into groups called Regionals that are under the oversight of ordained ministers called Overseers.

Elnora Bible Institute (EBI), a ministry of BMA, is a school located in Elnora, IN that offers Junior College level courses in Bible study and related subjects to single and married people. Six week terms are available to provide an opportunity for students to do systematic Bible study and develop their faith in the inspiration and authority of God’s Word.

big tree DestiNATIONS International (DNI) is the mission arm of BMA offering opportunities for service in various countries as well as is the states. The primary focus of DNI is to reach unreached people groups with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. A Missions Training Center (MTC) located in Queens, NY serves DNI as a training facility for persons interested in serving in a mission field.

Various Boards, Committees, Councils, and Sub-committees serve in the organizational structure of BMA.

  • The Board of Executors serve as the executive arm of the organization. Their role is to see that all aspects of the Alliance are functioning properly and to plan the annual Convention held each summer in various communities around the US. They also plan the annual Minister’s Enrichment meetings held each February to encourage church leaders in the Alliance.

  • The Council of Overseers is the policy making body of BMA consisting of all the Regional Overseers with one brother chosen as the Chairmen of the Council of Overseers.
  • Publications produced by BMA are under the direction of BMA Publications, a board responsible for the production of ‘The Alliance Newsletter’ an informational and teaching periodical produced bi-monthly. The Editor of ‘The Alliance Newsletter’ also serves under BMA Publications.
